Citizen (aka Gov+)
Honestly, this is probably one of the projects I am most proud of.
Product Builder is a proprietary technology of a company formerly known as Citizen LLC. Now GovPlus. I was brought in to help design and develop it. From my interview question to my last day, this is all I worked on while working there.
Product Builder
There are many companies that help you fill out official forms for all sorts of different things. Vehicle registration, student financial aid, you name it. And for each form there are multiple companies competing to fill out your form for you. Citizen's mission was to become the one-stop-shop for ALLLLL you official form needs. The Product Builder helped them achieve that mission, and become one of the leaders in government form assistance.
My boss and I worked a lot together from the start on the design of a system that could be used by product managers to build out brand new products using a simple GUI. See each of the items in the dropdown of the screenshot above? Each is a different product, served on a separate Docker container, purchaseable by the user. They were made by non-technical folk, using a system of reusable question types to compose different flows for each product, highly conditional, pulling from existing user data so so the user would never have to repeat a question they'd already answered. I used my experience building a highly customizable digital marketing funnel app to inform the design.
My favorite projects are those that start with little more than an idea, in which I get to work intimately on the design and early prototypes. Like with Easy Link, the Product Builder went on to become a very successful and profitable product for the company I worked for.
